Students review summer-themed “If…Then” hypotheses, identify independent and dependent variables, and practice experimental design.

Engaging way to review the scientific method at the end of the year!

Part 1: Gives students 7 summer-themed questions such as “If you wrap your snacks in aluminum foil, will they still be stolen by seagulls at the beach?” Students write an “If…Then” hypothesis for each scenario and identify the independent and dependent variables within their statements.

Part 2: Students design experiments for 3 summer-themed hypotheses. They describe an experiment, list some controls, and identify the independent and dependent variables for each.
