NO PREP Christmas Science Stations

NON-RELIGIOUS Christmas science stations! Perfect for public school!

Looking for a more rigorous science-based Winter Holiday activity? Spark some critical thinking with DATA ANALYSIS and CER PRACTICE task cards!

Includes both paper-based and digital Google Slides options to assign.

⭐ Get this at a huge discount in my Christmas Science Skills Bundle!

In this activity, students will:

  • READ a brief passage about a real-world science scenario with a winter or Christmas (non-religious!) theme.
  • ANALYZE a simple data table.
  • Make a CLAIM based on EVIDENCE for a related question. Students do not have to make a claim “out of nowhere.” They are asked a pointed question that they answer in the CER format.

This activity is designed to get kids practicing CER, not learning content. No prior content knowledge is required, and this activity can be used in any secondary science class. Students are able to make a claim based on the information in the text and data table alone.

Covers FUN Science-Based Holiday Themes Such As:

  • Elf Owls (How much water do they get from each prey type?)
  • Candy Canes (Why do they get sticky in the air?)
  • Reindeer Food (How does temperature affect how much reindeer eat?)
  • Snowball Fights (Which snowball packs the most force?)
  • Plus lots more winter and holiday themes, such as how long arctic animals can go without food, snowman insulators, the efficiency of holiday lights, and more!

Teacher Notes:

  • Students practice data analysis, CER, and graphing in my Christmas Science Skills Bundle!
  • Includes an answer key.
  • Please note that Christmas science stations are not editable.
  • GO PAPERLESS! Use the included digital Google Slides option to assign!
