Science CER Practice for Holidays

$19.96 Save money with this bundle! Use the holidays as an excuse to practice science skills! Spark critical thinking with DATA ANALYSIS and CER PRACTICE task cards for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas (non-religious!), and Valentine’s Day! Science CER practice for holidays is a fun way to keep kids thinking, even during the crazy holidays.

In each activity, students will:

  • READ a brief passage about a real-world science scenario with a holiday theme.
  • ANALYZE a simple data table.
  • Make a CLAIM based on EVIDENCE for a related question. Students do not have to make a claim “out of nowhere.” They are asked a pointed question that they answer in the CER format.

Each included activity includes BOTH paper-based stations and digital Google Slides options to assign.

These activities are designed to get kids practicing CER, not learning content. No prior content knowledge is required, and these activities can be used in any secondary science class. Students are able to make a claim based on the information in the text and data table alone.

Halloween Themes (10 data stations):
