This Mt. St. Helens volcano reading highlights how volcanoes cause changes to Earth’s surface. Students learn more about Mt. St. Helens and Earth’s changing surface.
In this activity, students will:
- DEFINE vocabulary from the text as a preview of the reading.
- READ an article introducing them to what happened at Mount St. Helens in 1980 and the aftermath that occurred. (We make one class set of the reading and reuse them so we don’t have to make a ton of copies.)
- ANSWER text-dependent questions.
