In this photosynthesis and cellular respiration activity, students will sort and categorize 24 phrases that are associated with either photosynthesis or cellular respiration. Phrases review the reactants and products of each process, where they occur, how energy is involved, etc. This gets kids thinking beyond memorized definitions!

  • MS-LS2-3: Develop a model to describe the cycling of matter and flow of energy among living and nonliving parts of an ecosystem. Emphasis is on describing the conservation of matter and flow of energy into and out of various ecosystems.

Amazing, high-quality, real-world applications. I love the station set up to get students moving around and collaborating with each other.
