Fun Fungi Reading for Middle School

Engaging fungi reading for middle school!  This fungus article lets students get to know FUNGI in a high-interest way.

In this activity, students will:

  • READ “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” which highlights how fungi are beneficial (medicines, decomposers, etc.), harmful (diseases, etc.), and how varied they can look.
  • ORGANIZE information from the text in a simple table.
  • COMPLETE a claims/evidence/reasoning section to finish the statement “The most important use of fungi is…”.
  • ANSWER several text-dependent questions.
