Wildfires Reading & Worksheet

In this introductory wildfires reading, students learn how wildfires start, how they spread, the conditions that make them more dangerous, their impacts, and how they can be prevented or controlled.

In this activity, students will:

  • READ a 2-page text passage about wildfires, including the fire triangle, how fires spread, types of wildfires, and conditions that increase wildfire risk.
  • ANSWER text-dependent questions. The worksheet also includes graphic organizer-type sections for students to organize and apply what they have learned. No prior knowledge is required – all information comes directly from the text.
