This is a set of very straightforward properties of matter worksheets and a brief game to review the properties of matter, including mass, weight, and volume. These activities are not fancy, but they get the job done if you need a quick yet effective way to review and reinforce these concepts.
Included Activities:
- Water Displacement Drawings: Students follow simple instructions to create two drawings that will demonstrate their understanding of how water displacement is used to determine volume. (1 page)
- Mass, Weight, and Gravity Graphic Organizer: Students sort phrases that are associated with mass, weight, or gravity to demonstrate that they know the difference between these three related concepts. (2 pages)
- Mass, Weight, and Volume Review Drawings: This simple activity has students create drawings that review the properties of matter as well as the procedures and tools used to measure them. (2 pages)
- Mass, Weight, Volume, and Density Worksheet: Students are given a phrase (such as a definition, a tool used to measure, etc.) and must state whether the phrase best fits mass, weight, volume, or density. (1 page)
- Taboo Test Review Game: Two versions are provided – one easier and one more challenging. This very quick but fun game for pairs reviews vocabulary words. (2 pages of game cards plus instructions)
